Convent of the Sacred Heart is an independent,Catholic day school for girls from kindergarten through grade 12 with a coedpreschool and prekindergarten. We are located 30 miles north of New York City on a 118-acre campus in Greenwich, Connecticut with a beautiful view of the Long Island Sound. The school was founded in 1848 and is one of 22 members of the network of Sacred Heart schools in the United States.
Our 740 students carry on the Sacred Heart tradition of academic excellence and development of the mind, body and spirit. We offer a rigorous independent school curriculum. Students and faculty of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome here and are part of our community today. The Roman Catholic heritage of the school is important; we follow the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart schools, like our 21 companion schools across the country.
We employ 120 faculty members in our Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools. Our salary scale puts us among the top 5 of private schools in the Fairfield/Westchester County area and our benefits are excellent, including a TIAA/CREF retirement plan, medical insurance, long and short term disability, life insurance, and graduate school tuition assistance. We have a generous professional development budget as well.
