The Town of Framingham encompasses rural, suburban and urban development in just over 25 square miles with a population of approximately 65,000 people. Framingham is the magnet community in the MetroWest economic region, located equidistant between the Commonwealth’s two largest cities of Boston and Worcester.
The Framingham Public School District educates approximately 8,700 students in nine elementary schools, three middle schools and one high school. The school district celebrates and supports diversity. Our students speak 52 different native languages and approximately 30% of the student body come from under represented groups. A new teacher contract, effective with the 2000-2001 school year, gives teachers an 11.75% raise over three years. Salaries range from the mid-30’s for a first year teacher with a bachelor’s degree to the high 60’s at the top of the scale. Health insurance, life insurance and a dental program are available as well as a tuition reimbursement plan.
