St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a coeducational, non-sectarian, college-preparatory day school serving more than 920 students in Prekindergarten through grade 12. Our three campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul, Minnesota. Our Goodrich Campus serves students in grades K-5, and our Randolph Campus serves students in grades 6-12. Our Prekindergarten is located on the campus of St. Catherine’s University and serves children beginning at age 4.  The school draws students from St. Paul, Minneapolis, and throughout the eastern and western suburbs.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

St. Paul Academy & Summit School (SPA) seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and goal-oriented Director of Auxiliary Programs to drive the growth and success of our summer camp and auxiliary programs while developing and managing additional revenue-generating initiatives. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, team-oriented professional with both strategic vision and hands-on operational expertise, capable of seamlessly transitioning between high-level program development and day-to-day execution. Additionally, the ideal candidate is a highly organized, entrepreneurial, and enthusiastic leader who is trustworthy, confident, and adept at collaborating across teams to drive execution and achieve strategic goals.


The Director of Auxiliary Programs will report to the Assistant Head of School and will be responsible for expanding SPA’s pre-K–12th grade auxiliary programming, including the Spartan Day Camp, Beyond the Classroom, enrichment camps, athletics camps, community events, weekend workshops, and co-curricular activities. This role will support the growth of other auxiliary revenue streams, including facility rentals. This role is ideal for a proactive and results-driven leader with a passion for youth programming, strategic growth, and financial sustainability.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the design and execution of high-quality summer and auxiliary programs, including Spartan Day Camp, middle school afterschool, academic, enrichment, and athletic components. 
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for summer and auxiliary programs that aligns with SPA’s mission and drives long-term, sustainable revenue growth.
  • Evaluate, enhance, and expand program offerings – particularly summer programs – based on market demand, participant needs, and institutional goals.
  • Build partnerships with community organizations, peer schools, and local providers to strengthen program offerings and visibility.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments using feedback from families, participants, and staff to inform program improvements.
  • Serve as “throughline” to elevate the school’s core programming by applying an entrepreneurial mindset that fosters a cohesive, 12-month business and academic approach.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage budgets for all summer and auxiliary programs; set revenue goals and establish pricing strategies in partnership with the Director of Finance.
  • Work closely and meet regularly with the Middle School Leadership and Student Life teams to assist with planning of assemblies, Affinity Groups, Special Interest Groups, and themed weeks.
  • Organize and manage Middle School field trips and student retreats, after school care, as well as annual faculty chaperone duties.
  • Supervise Wednesday morning care (7:30 am-8:30 am) and lunch recess duty.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Communications and Marketing to implement an integrated marketing plan that promotes all summer and auxiliary offerings.
  • Ensure that program information is effectively communicated across digital platforms, including the school website and social media.
  • Coordinate closely with the Enrollment Office to identify and engage potential students.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of seasonal and year-round auxiliary staff.
 
 
Minimum Degree: BA
Certification Required: No
Minimum Experience: 1-3 Years

 
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • experience as a strategic, entrepreneurial leader with a passion for youth programming and a commitment to operational excellence. 
  • A minimum of 2 years in a progressively responsible management role;  4-5 years of leadership in summer and/or auxiliary programs preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  •  Demonstrated ability to think creatively, identify new opportunities and build programs that are innovative, mission-aligned, and financially sustainable.
  •  Deep knowledge of youth programming, including current trends, best practices, legal requirements, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
  • Experience promoting programs through digital media, social platforms, and website content management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and teams.
