Latin School of Chicago seeks a creative and innovative Upper School French Teacher who is passionate about languages and cultures and committed to connecting with and supporting students. Strong candidates will be well-versed in proficiency-based instruction and educational technology, and have demonstrated a commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and professionalism.
This position is for the 2023-2024 school year with possibility to continue.
Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Teach 4 classes per semester
- Serve as a co-advisor to 8-10 students
- Attend and participate in weekly required meetings (division, department, language cohort, all-school)
- Chaperone an experiential learning Project Week (second week of March)
- Work closely with the department chair and Division Director to design lesson plans and curriculum that is responsive to student needs.
- Write student narratives two times a year.
- Engage in professional development in line with department goals and philosophy.
- Cultivate an inclusive and supportive climate for all students
