Roland Park Country School is seeking a full-time Physical Education teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching PE as well as health and wellness. Key qualities include a collaborative spirit, enthusiasm for working with young people and the ability to foster and nurture a learning environment that is engaging and accessible to a broad and diverse range of students. The position includes two seasons of coaching at the Middle or Upper School level. At RPCS we provide an education-based PE and athletics program that strikes a balance between highly competitive championship experiences and a lifelong love of sports and fitness. Key Responsibilities: • Teach PE to students, cross-divisionally K - 12th grade • Collaborate with department colleagues in PE and Athletics • Serve as academic advisor and/or advisor to student extracurricular activities • Participate in co-curricular events, programs and activities • Coach two seasons in the Middle or Upper School Equal Opportunity Employment Policy RPCS is an equal opportunity employer. Minimum Degree: BA
Certification Required: No
Minimum Experience: 3-5 Years

Core Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, physical education or related field • At least 2 years of teaching experience • Knowledge of current best practices • Experience developing and/or teaching a health and wellness curriculum • A commitment to culturally competent teaching • Familiarity with giving and receiving feedback for professional growth • Growth mindset, flexibility, and openness to collaboration and experimentation Preferred Qualifications: • Graduate degree • Commitment to developing student athletes through coaching and mentoring • Experience as a collegiate athlete • Experience creating differentiated learning opportunities to optimize student outcomes
