Job Description/Responsibilities:
The Director of Information Technology is responsible for providing the vision, leadership, planning, and management of information technology systems and services to advance the mission and strategic priorities of Northfield Mount Hermon. The Director will collaborate with constituencies across campus to set strategic direction and be involved with the practical implementation of technology, infrastructure, and data security initiatives across all areas of development, acquisition, implementation, and support. The Director will supervise and lead a staff of eight technical professionals to provide excellent support services to the community and ensure appropriate information security and data privacy. The Director will support the ongoing development of IT staff in a team environment to ensure a strategic approach to technology and support for academic and administrative functions. The Director will be responsible for overseeing the IT budget and expenditures while prioritizing and promoting a culture of customer service and best practices. Guided by NMH policies and procedures, the Director will audit how information systems are being used, establish compliance where necessary, and provide effective leadership in information security policies and solutions designed to keep users and data safe without impeding effective teaching and learning.
 
 
Minimum Degree: BA
Certification Required: No
Minimum Experience: 7-10 Years

 
Qualifications:
A minimum of 7 years of experience in technology management, preferably in an educational environment and in progressively responsible roles. Able to develop and lead strategic initiatives that advance the NMH mission and are consistent with its values. Proven supervisory and staff development skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents in a diverse community. Extensive familiarity with Macintosh and Windows operating systems, Google platforms, and administrative applications. Demonstrated success in meeting the complex needs of demanding users. Budget preparation and management experience with the ability to adhere to and operate within budgetary guidelines.
