Our Values:

Montessori -

We honor and practice Montessori everywhere in the school. We respect and nurture the whole child – the social, intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual development. Montessori-credentialed teachers in multi-age classrooms practice and model Montessori education that is both authentic and innovative.

Diversity and Social Justice -

We are enriched, challenged, and inspired by the diversity in our community. Students, faculty, staff and parents seek to understand our own identities, biases, and privileges. Through an ongoing commitment of time, energy and resources, we work toward a more just world.

Community -

We create and sustain an environment of trust, understanding, and inclusivity, where children bring their authentic selves to school. Each child is a meaningful part of a greater whole – in their family, in their multi-age classroom, in their school, in their community, and in the world.  Students, faculty, staff, and families are encouraged to extend the respect and interconnectedness they learn in our community throughout their day-to-day lives.

Exploration -

We all grow and learn here. Students explore social and academic challenges, working to do their best while taking risks and learning from mistakes; they support and encourage others to do the same. Teachers explore and discover effective approaches to classroom learning, indoors and outdoors. Families explore and share the joys and challenges of parenting.

Sustainability -

We preserve and care for the natural world – in our backyard and around the world. Mindful of our impact on the environment and on the health and livelihood of people, we work to manage our resources responsibly and teach children the importance of living in harmony with nature.
