North Shore School District 112 proudly serves approximately 4,000 Pre-K through 8th-grade students from the communities of Highland Park, Highwood, and Fort Sheridan. Our dynamic community is educating the next generation of leaders in 10 schools: seven elementary schools, two middle schools, and an early childhood center. We foster inspiring, innovative, and engaging environments to educate our students and prepare them for life success in a dynamic world.
Schools in District 112 have stood for excellence, innovation and grit for generations. In 2020, Indian Trail Elementary School was awarded the National Blue Ribbon School award, which awards schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. The Illinois State Board of Education has also rated five of our schools as “Exemplary” and four as “Commendable,” which identify how well schools are serving all students. Our schools are a place where you can focus on the why in education and care for the whole child.
