This workshop will focus on the challenges, best practices and strategies associated with minority faculty and staff recruitment. It will leverage over 20 years of diversity recruitment experience and is designed to empower individuals and institutions with information and resources to maximize their recruitment efforts. It will provide a framework for change and improve effectiveness of current and future work. It promises that participants will leave with concrete, tangible tips and strategies along with a comprehensive plan to address their individual obstacles and needs.
Participants will: • Learn how and where to access information and resources that will assist them in meeting their diversity goals • Learn how to implement best practices and proven minority recruitment strategies • Develop a Supply Network and Create a Recruitment Plan • Take the NEMNET Minority Recruitment Assessment Test [nMRAT] to assess individual obstacles and needs.
Audience: All individuals directly involved and responsible for faculty and staff recruitment, as well as and including School Leadership, HR Managers, Division Heads, Diversity Practitioners and Board Members.

About Your Presenter:
Angela Brown is a charismatic introvert who never tires of connecting, organizing, or improving! As a senior administrator in independent schools, Angela has served on dozens of hiring teams and reviewed hundreds of resumes and cover letters. Thus, she knows firsthand the missteps made by candidates in the hiring process. Angela enjoys consulting with educators of color, equipping them to effectively navigate their job searches and present themselves in ways that are polished and powerful. In her current role as Assistant Head for Admission and Strategic Initiatives at Dana Hall School (MA), Angela spearheads the school’s marketing and branding efforts and oversees all aspects of enrollment, admission, and financial aid. Angela is also a member of the Board of Directors of AISAP. Previously, Angela served as Director of Admission at The Pike School (MA), Director of Diversity Development at The Harpeth Hall School (TN), Director of Admission at The Urban School of San Francisco (CA), and Associate Director of Admission at St. Paul’s School (NH). Angela received her M.Ed. in Organizational Leadership from Vanderbilt University and her B.A. in French from Amherst College. She is a graduate of Phillips Academy Andover and grew up in Marietta, GA.
