Job Description/Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach five courses per year, including linguistics (both introductory courses and courses in area of specialization, in English and Spanish), Spanish language, and courses in the college’s Core program, and to maintain an active research program appropriate in the liberal arts context. A commitment to offering mentorship to students of diverse backgrounds is expected. .

Applicants must have the Ph.D. by August 2019, in an appropriate area of Spanish linguistics, a native or near-native command of Spanish, and a demonstrable commitment to both teaching and scholarship. A strong theoretical background is expected. Scholarly and/or pedagogical interests in issues of bilingualism, regional variation in Latin American Spanish, language maintenance/attrition in the Spanish-speaking diaspora, or Spanish as a heritage language are particularly welcome.
