Workshop Focus:
This workshop builds on the introductory nemnet.com Minority Faculty Recruitment Workshop, Overcoming Obstacles in Recruiting Minority Teachers, Administrators and Coaches. Piecing the Puzzle seeks to assess and focus in on the individual obstacles and challenges of a given school.This step by step workshop seeks to create a comprehensive school/community-wide approach to recruitment. It will leverage the best practices and strategies associated with minority faculty and staff recruitment and in doing so, educate and empower school leadership and the individuals directly responsible for faculty and staff recruitment with information and resources to maximize their current efforts.
Participants will:
• Take the nemnet Minority Recruitment Assessment Test [MRAT] to assess individual obstacles and needs
• Learn the strengths and weaknesses of their Diversity Recruitment Program
• Learn how to implement best practices and proven minority recruitment strategies
• Learn how to develop a framework for implementing future diversity recruitment initiatives
